Retinal and Choroidal Thickness in Myopic Young Adults

نویسندگان

چکیده

The retinal and the choroidal thickness were measured at four locations along horizontal direction (foveola, one nasal to fovea two temporal) in a group of 43 young adults (mean age: 27.1 ± 3.9 years), with ocular refraction ranging from emmetropia high myopia (0 −10D). Thickness values obtained OCT images centered foveal depression. exhibited correlation all eccentricities but not fovea. When different subgroups considered, analysis such correlations indicated that only (refraction ≤ −6D) was statistically other groups (emmetropes: [−0.5, 0] D, myopes: (−6, −0.5) D). No significant differences found between emmetropic myopic groups. In contrast retina, fovea, although dependency stood for myopes (the choroid emmetropes similar thickness). Correlation also location, arising Other among did exhibit relationship refraction. It is concluded retina meridian as function do characterize onset progression early stages, since they manifest myopia.

Retinal and choroidal thickness in myopic anisometropia.

PURPOSE We compared the retinal thickness (RT) and choroidal thickness (ChT) between the fellow eyes of nonamblyopic myopic anisometropes. METHODS The eyes of 22 nonamblyopic myopic anisometropes (≥ 1 diopter [D] spherical equivalent refraction [SER] anisometropia) were examined using spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). Customized software was used to register, align, and a...

Choroidal and Retinal Thickness of Highly Myopic Eyes with Early Stage of Myopic Chorioretinopathy: Tessellation

Purpose To investigate the choroidal thickness (CT) and retinal thickness (RT) in highly myopic tessellated eyes. Methods In this study, 115 highly myopic eyes were recruited and divided as tessellated fundus (n = 93) and normal fundus (n = 22). RT and CT were quantified using optical coherence tomography with enhanced depth imaging (EDI-OCT). Correlation between subfoveal CT (SFCT) and tesse...

Baseline subfoveal choroidal thickness as an indicator for bevacizumab outcomes in central retinal vein occlusion

Background: Retinal vein occlusions are one of the most common form of retinal vascular disorders and could lead to vision loss due to macular edema, macular ischemia and sequelae from neovascularization. Anti-venous endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) treatment is the choice strategy of treatment for patients with macular edema secondary to central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO). There is an ...

Choroidal thickness measurement in highly myopic eyes using SD-OCT.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE To measure macular choroidal thickness (CT) using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (OCT) and to investigate the correlation between CT and age, degree of myopia, and history of macular choroidal neovascularization (CNV). PATIENTS AND METHODS A cross-sectional study included 187 highly myopic eyes of 187 patients examined between January and December 2010. ...

retinal nerve fiber layer thickness and physiological central corneal thickness in healthy myopic eyes

purpose: to examine the relationship between retinal nerve fiber layer (rnfl) measurements obtained using scanning laser polarimetry with variable corneal compensation (vcc) and central corneal thickness (cct) measurements using pentacam in myopic patients methods: the study included 45 eyes from 45 myopic patients with intraocular pressure (iop) measurements≤21 mmhg. all participants had norma...
